From your grandparents to your wedding party, I make an effort to get to know the people around me. The more comfortable everyone feels, the more natural the photographs become.

I've always thought the best way to photograph a wedding is to become a small part of it.

To photograph people well, you have to know something about them. The relationships, the personalities, the family dynamics. Who makes everyone laugh, who cries during the speeches, and who would rather stay out of the spotlight.

I like to think of myself as a guest with a camera. Someone who can step in and take charge when needed, but is just as happy blending into the crowd, getting to know your family, and lending a hand along the way.

I don't believe a wedding should revolve around the photographs. The photographs should revolve around the wedding.

And I think the best ones come from being part of it, rather than watching from the outside.
